General Information:

The daytime competition will begin around 9:30 am.  Finals begin around 7:00 p.m. under the lights.  All finalists participate in a full field retreat and celebration for the awards ceremony.

 

Adjudication: National Adjudication panel and clinic options

Place:  Blue Springs High School Peve Stadium.

 

Warm-up areas:   Artificial Turf Warm-up field + separate percussion area

Weather:  A delay of festival will be utilized if it looks like a weather pattern will be passing through.  The artificial field turf will allow the festival to quickly resume.

 

Time limits:  15 minutes (including entrance and exit).

 

Clock:   The show will run on the world clock.

 

Exhibition Band:  Blue Springs High School will perform in exhibition and will not compete.

 

Hotels:  Accommodations locally fill up fast, so we recommend securing those rooms ASAP.  

 

Festival Details:   Specific festival details will be made available to enrolled bands.

Awards: 

Preliminary Awards: 

  • Trophies for first through fourth place awarded.

  • Outstanding Soloist

  • Outstanding Visual Performance

  • Outstanding Musical Performance

  • Outstanding General Effect

Finals Awards:  All places recognized plus caption awards

 

Celebrations:

The preliminary awards for the Purple Show will take place at approximately noon and for the Gold Show approximately 4:30 p.m.  The drum majors will be brought onto the track in performance order.    Field show finals will begin at approximately 7:00 p.m.  A full field gala celebration retreat with all bands is celebrated for the finals awards.

 

Concessions:

Pizza, sandwiches, snacks, drinks, etc. will be on sale by the Friends of the Golden Regiment.  This is our major fund-raiser of the year and we encourage you and your students to support them as they spend a great deal of time organizing the festival.  Pre-ordered meal opportunities exist.  

 

Program:

A professional, 40+ page program is showcased at the festival.  Please submit program information by the due date so your band can be represented.   A photo of your band, as well as band information, is due by September 1.
